photo series: Ghetto Birds - About pigeons: Ghetto Birds 17

In front of Castle Philippsruhe in Hanau/Germany a bride and groom release white pigeons during their wedding because the birds are a symbol of love due to their faithfulness towards their partners. Not all weeding pigeons find their way home after weddings. Some get lost and join flocks of city pigeons. Since they have been fed by breeders all their life, most homing pigeons have a short life once they end up on the streets.
