photo series: Ghetto Birds - About pigeons: Ghetto Birds 8

City pigeons mostly die because of starvation. The bird in the bottom left corner is malnourished and died shortly after the photo was taken. Its feathers are poofy because the pigeons protects itself from the cold. The pigeon in the upper left corner has its tail feathers stuck together with so-called {quote}bird glue{quote} which is illegal but used for bird defense. The bird is unable to fly and would be doomed if the 'Stadttaubenprojekt' didn't take care of him. The pigeon in the bottom right corner had its right wing injured by spikes that were installed to keep birds away. The two pigeons in the upper right corner were found tied together with by laces that are used in bird defense nets. These pigeons are not bred pigeons who ended up on the streets but descendants of them.
