A shepherd with his small herd in the city of Poronin in rural Poland close to the boarder of Slovakia. Poronin is located in the Tatra mountains that cover parts of Poland's south and Slovakia's north. The Tatras are the highest part of the Carpathian mountains. At the beginning of World War 1 Vladimir Lenin and Nadezhda Krupskaya were staying in Poronin, they were arrested on suspicion of being Russian spies but released soon after
